ilāhiyyūn (Sufi Terminology)

Ilāhiyyūn are the last of the philosophers. One of them is Socrates, the teacher of Plato. Plato, in turn, was the teacher of Aristotle. Aristotle is the one who organized the science of logic and made philosophical sciences more easily accessible. Thanks to this, these sciences, which were difficult to understand, became easier to comprehend. All of them rejected the ideas put forth by the dehriyyūn (atheists, those who claim the world created itself) and the ṭabīʿiyyūn (naturalists, those who accept nature as god). They exposed their disgrace in such a way that there was no room left for others to further disgrace them. (al-Munqidh, 97)
