...witnesses the Real (al-Ḥaqq) without [anything] else. When the servant's witnessing is sound, then this witnesser (the one who witnesses, is witnessing Allah Most High). This is the loftiest manifestation of shahāda (testimony). After this comes the beginning of the degrees of ṣiddīqiyya (the station of the truthful). This is [true] existence (wujūd). One becomes annihilated (fanāʾ) in oneself through the existence (wujūd) of the Lord. At that point, one enters the circle of ṣiddīqiyya. The lowest part of the greatest testimony (shahāda-i kubrā) is to be attached to the love of Allah (maḥabbatullāh) without any cause. Thus, one's love for Allah Most High is due to His attributes and His being worthy of love. (Insān, II, 93)
