My brother, accuse (ithām) your own nafs (the lower self) far more than you accuse your greatest enemy. Fear committing haram (forbidden acts) with your tongue more than you fear a harmful predatory animal. For the reward of a believer killed by a predatory animal is Paradise, but the punishment for one who kills with the tongue—unless Allah forgives—is the Fire. (Ādāb, 62)
