Qādiriyya (Sufi Terminology)

The main principles of the Qādiriyya are five: to have lofty himma (spiritual aspiration), to wait patiently, to guard the boundaries of what is forbidden, to serve beautifully, to be steadfast in one's determination (firm resolve), and to regard blessings as great. The rank of one whose himma is lofty will be elevated. Allah protects the honor of the one who guards the boundaries of what He has forbidden. For the one whose service is beautiful, His karāma (generosity) becomes obligatory. The hudā (guidance) of the one who walks on the path with determination is continuous. Whoever regards blessings as great gives shukr (gratitude) for them. And whoever gives gratitude is given more blessings.
