This relationship is a fine one, for if heat (ḥarāra) and moisture (ruṭūba) prevail in the temperament of the sālik (spiritual traveler), it protects him from inclining toward dryness (yabāsat), whose result is disengagement from the spiritual path (sulūk), and toward coldness (burūdat).
