Kevkeb-i subh (morning star) is the first of the manifestations (tajallī) to be perceived. It has also been used in reference to the one who has realized the manifestation of the universal nafs (nafs-i kullī) and attained maʿrifa (experiential knowledge of God).
This term is derived from the verse, "When the night covered him, he saw a star..." (al-Anʿām 6:76), referring to the moment when the Messenger of God (peace be upon him) beheld the star. (Kāshānī, 70; Jāmiʿ, 94)
