Kuddūs means one who is free from sensory (sense-based) and spiritual attributes. For the servant to draw near to Him through the name Kuddūs, it is necessary to engage in retreat (khalwa), to persist in fasting—sometimes to such an extent that it does not quite reach the level of the union fast (ṣawm al-wiṣāl), to consume only things that are permissible (mubāḥ), and to remember Him by invoking the name Subbūḥ. Silence brings one closer to conquering it, and the truths of ḥaqīqa (inner reality) manifest themselves to him. (Ravza, 316)
