It becomes manifest. The command descends to creation all at once, and every created being receives as much as it can bear. (Futūḥāt, IV, 102)
There is only bringing into existence, effusion, and the gathering of breaths. Irfād means to give to all kinds only. It is never possible to describe the Most Sacred Station (Maqām-i Aqdas) as being prevented from bestowing, for this would mean nonexistence. Such doubts are repelled by the proofs of pre-eternity. (Latāʾif, 27)
Effusion (fayḍ) is the eternal and everlasting perpetual manifestation. Without the Divine Spirit (rūḥ), the completed world resembles an unpolished mirror. With the Divine Spirit, it becomes as if polished. Just as a mirror, being bright, receives the image of what is before it and shows it to its owner, so too does the world, by receiving the Divine Spirit, accept the perpetual manifestation. This manifestation, in that perfect locus, is the appearance of His likeness to Himself. (Ṣofyavī, 16)
