Lesen is that by which divine exposition (ifsāḥ) occurs for the ears of the ʿārif (gnostic, one who knows God). (Istilāḥ, 540)

Lesen (eloquence, fasāḥa) is the divine clarification that Allah wishes to make known to ears that recognize Him. This clarification either takes the form of a divine taʿlīm (instruction), or occurs through the tongue of a prophet, walī (friend of God), or ṣiddīq. (Kāshānī, 73; Jāmiʿ, 94)
