Levāʾiḥ is that which appears in the outward mysteries in order to further increase exaltedness. To pass from one ḥāl (spiritual state) to another is superior to this.
The meaning of levāmiʿ is close to that of levāʾiḥ. Levāmiʿ is derived from the flashing of lightning. When lightning flashes in the cloud, the thirsty one hopes for rain. (Lumaʿ, 412)
Kādiḥ has a meaning close to khāṭir (passing thought). However, khāṭir belongs to the hearts of the people of yaqaẓa (wakefulness), whereas kādiḥ pertains to the hearts of the people of heedlessness. When the clouds of heedlessness are dispersed from their hearts, their dhikr (remembrance of God) is kindled.
