Mahfūẓ (the protected one) is the person whom Allah has protected from opposition in word, deed, and will. Therefore, the mahfūẓ only says and does what pleases Allah, and desires nothing except what Allah desires. He turns only to what Allah commands. Reflect well on this. (Kāshānī, 79; Jāmiʿ, 96)
