What is the maqām-i maḥmūd (the praised station)? (It is as follows:) This is the station to which the outcomes of all other maqām (spiritual stations) arrive. All the divine names pertaining to the maqām (spiritual stations) refer to this station. It belongs to the Messenger of God (peace be upon him). This station will become manifest for all creatures on the Day of Resurrection (qiyāma). For this reason, on the day when (deeds) will be presented, his sovereignty and leadership over all people will be realized in a manner comprehensible to everyone. (Futūḥāt, TI, 85-86)
