Mes'ele-i gâmiza (difficult-to-solve problem)... is the subsistence (baqāʾ) of the immutable entities (aʿyān-i thābita). That is, through the manifestation (tajallī) of the Real (al-Ḥaqq) in the forms of the aʿyān-i thābita, by the Name of the Manifest Light (al-Nūr al-Ẓāhir, also called al-Jāmiʿ), the existence of the manifest (ẓāhir) upon the nonexistence (ʿadam) is revealed by the rulings of the existence (wujūd) of the Real, and by attributing existence to it, it appears at every moment in a new creation, and with the persistence of the original nonexistence, the entities (aʿyān) become determined (taʿayyun) through it (through the existence of the Real). For if the attribution of existence to it and its determination had not been continuously preferred, it would never have manifested. This matter pertains to unveiling (kashf) and taste (dhawq): it can be expressed in words, but cannot be comprehended by the intellect. (Kāshānī, 84; Jāmiʿ, 98)
