Mesh refers to the transformation of hearts. This term is used to describe those who, having once turned towards the Real (al-Ḥaqq), are cast away from the door of the Real by turning away. Their orientation is not towards matters related to the Real, but rather towards worldly pleasures. If someone says, "So-and-so was subjected to mesh," it means, "He turned away with his heart." (Luma, 448)
(Regarding transmigration) There are also those who claim that it is not necessary for the species to be preserved in individuals, and that the transfer (of souls) can occur to beings other than humans, including animals. This is also called mesh. All of these are great imbalances, baseless absurdities without evidence or proof. (Ravza, 210)
