The mujāhid-i ṣarīḥ (explicit mujāhid) is one who constantly seeks assistance, engages in mujāhada (spiritual struggle), remains frequently sleepless, and speaks about states of ecstasy and sudden ḥāl (spiritual states), ḥikma (wisdoms), and maqām (spiritual stations). The explicit mujāhid is one who stands in the station of mujāhada or in the arena of mujādala (spiritual contest), or in the station of shahāda (witnessing). (Ravza, 667)
