They are beings. These are discerning intellects that can possess form and appearance, are luminous, possess nūr (light), and are spiritual (rūḥānī). These are called malāʾika (angels). They do not occupy space and are not found in any location. They have no specific form. If they appear in a form, that is a subtle and delicate secret. The spiritual forces whose substance is fire are called jinn (according to the entry göre nārī). However, jinn are under the influence of nature. Heat is among their essential characteristics.
