The ḥaqīqa (inner reality), despite the perfections (kamālāt) that have been reflected upon them, are in essence the very foundations of all evil and deficiency, namely the 'adamat' (nonexistences). This view requires detailed explanations that must be listened to with the ear of the intellect... (Maktūbāt, I, 210)
According to this humble one, the aʿyān-i thābita (immutable archetypes) consist of these 'adamat' (nonexistences) and 'kamālāt' (perfections) that intermingle with one another.
Thus, Allah, the Absolutely Powerful, at a time He wills, at the level of knowledge called the 'essence of the possible things' (māhiyyat-i mumkināt), has colored the essence of this 'adamiyyat' (nonexistence) with the dye of 'wujūd-i zillī' (shadow existence), along with the perfections and necessary things that have been reflected upon those 'adamat'. In this way, He created them as external existents and also as external effects.
