muntahā-yi maʿrifa

Muntahā-yi maʿrifa (the utmost limit of maʿrifa, experiential knowledge of God) is the maqām (spiritual station) of wāḥidiyya (divine oneness in multiplicity). Because the forms of meaning (maʿnā) manifest from it and the Rahmānī nafas (the breath of the All-Merciful) emerges from it, it is also called the origin of mā siwā (menšaʾ-i mā siwā, the source of all that is other than God). Since the Real (al-Ḥaqq) descends there in the form of creation, it is termed the station of descent (manzil-i tadallī, the final station); and because the generosity of the Real first overflows here, it is also called the source of munificence (munbaʿith-i jud, the station where generosity overflows).
