Murūʾa (character, humanity) is to maintain steadfastness (s̱abāt) in dhikr (remembrance of God) both in word and in deed, to guard the tongue (from evil speech), to have control over one's gaze (ṣāḥib), and to be attentive to clothing and food. (al-Lumaʿ, 302)
musāfir (traveler) In the journey of the musāfir (traveler), there are four things needed, without which one should not set out: First, knowledge sufficient for oneself; second, warāʿ (scrupulousness) to protect from the unlawful; third, wajd (spiritual ecstasy) to carry the heart; fourth, good character to protect from evil. (al-Lumaʿ, 252)
The musāfir is one who sets out on a journey of thought in matters that can be understood by reason. This is what is considered valid. Accordingly, the musāfir passes from the journey of the dunyā (this world) to the journey of the ākhira (the hereafter). (Istilāḥ, 530)
