It is among the greatest signs of its removal. (Futūḥ, 125-126)
The secret of destiny (sirr al-qadar, the secret of predestination) is something other than destiny itself. The secret is the very essence of domination (tahakkum) over created beings. The secret is not disclosed to created beings until the Real (al-Ḥaqq) becomes the very eye of the created beings. When the Real becomes their eye, and they look at things with the gaze of the Real, then the knowledge of things previously unknown to them is unveiled. For nothing remains hidden from the gaze of the Real. (Futūḥāt, TI, 66)
Because He had knowledge of things in pre-eternity, destiny (qadar) is the emergence and occurrence of things in the realm of existence as it has passed in Allah's ʿilm (knowledge). Sahl said: Allah has known and written all things. (Rawḍa, 207)
Decree (qaḍāʾ) is a fixed judgment, while destiny (qadar) is that which comes into being. For it occurs in the measure that it is known and written with Allah. (Divine) knowledge precedes all of these. (Rawḍa, 207)
Decree (qaḍāʾ) is Allah's judgment over things. In the language of this group (the Sufis), decree is the divine judgment over all existents in their present states. Allah's judgment over things is as He knows them... that is, as He knows the things... and according to His knowledge about them. The phrase 'as He knows things' indicates that Allah encompasses both the outward form and the inward reality of things with His knowledge. Allah's knowledge about things is according to the reality of those things themselves. The use of the phrase 'about things' instead of 'things' is because: He who knows the inner aspect of things also knows their outer aspect. Destiny (qadar) is to create things at their appointed time as they are in their essence... That is, destiny is to bring things into being in accordance with what the fixed archetypes (aʿyān thābita) require and as they occur at that time—neither in excess nor in deficiency of what their capacity necessitates.
The One who creates the decree... The judgment of the Real Exalted (Ḥaqq Taʿālā) regarding things... regarding kufr (disbelief) and rebellion is only as it is in the fixed archetype (ʿayn thābita) of that thing... For the servants, disbelief is decreed only according to the requirements of their fixed archetypes. In this matter, there is never any compulsion, direct or indirect, from Allah. This explanation negates the idea that destiny is necessitated by the servant's own essence, and instead affirms that it is from Allah's Essence. This clarification removes the suspicion of compulsion (jabr) from the minds of those among the people of veil (ahl al-ḥijāb) to whom the essence of the matter is not clear. This—that is, Allah's judgment over things according to their fixed archetypes—is the very secret of destiny (qadar) as manifested in the verse: 'Indeed in that is a reminder for whoever has a heart or who listens while he is present [in mind].' (Qāf 50:37). (Ṣofyāvī, 236)
