The etiquette (adab) prescribed by the sharia (the sacred law) regarding a given existent is according to the state (ḥāl) in which that being is found. For example: minerals, plants, animals, humans, accidents (aʿrāḍ), things that are susceptible to change and corruption (fasād, i.e., deterioration), and those that are not...
