Rutbat al-fāʾizīn (the rank of the victors); these are the ʿārif (maʿrifa—gnosis, experiential knowledge of God) who are outside the category of the muqallid (imitators). They are, above all, the sābiqūn among the muqarrabūn (those who have attained proximity to God). Although the muqallid possess a certain superiority and a station in Paradise, they are among the asḥāb al-yamīn (the people of the right hand).
