Request it in their presence. (Kāshānī, 138; Jāmiʿ, 87)
"Sābiq li'l-khayrāt" (those who hasten to good deeds): The "ẓālim li-nafsih" (those who wrong their own nafs [the lower self]) are those who persist in their sins. The "muqtaṣid" are those who fulfill the obligatory acts and avoid the forbidden. The "sābiq li'l-khayrāt" (those who excel in good deeds) are those who perform both the obligatory and the supererogatory acts. (al-Furqān 25:30)
