The sābikūn (those who are foremost) and muqarrabūn (those brought near) strive to draw near to Allah not only through the obligatory acts but also through supererogatory (nafl) deeds. They fulfill the wājib (necessary) and mustaḥabb (recommended) acts, and avoid the ḥarām (forbidden) and makrūh (disliked) things. By performing all acts of goodness within their capacity and attaining nearness to their Lord, they gain all of Allah's love. (al-Furqān 25:26)
