It is narrated that the shaykh said: At the beginning of attaining His waḥdāniyya (divine oneness), I became a bird whose body was from aḥadiyya (the station of absolute oneness), and whose wings were from daymūmiyya (perpetuity) and abadiyya (eternity). I flew in the sky of kayfiyya (spiritual modality) for ten years. In this manner, I flew in the sky hundreds of thousands of times. Finally, I reached the plain of azalīyya (pre-eternity). There, I saw the shajara-i ahadiyya (tree of aḥadiyya, the tree of absolute oneness) and the tree of faḥadiyya (the tree of unity). (Lumaʿ, 464)
