Seneviyye are those who worship Allah the Exalted from the perspective of His Essence (dhāt). For the Real (al-Ḥaqq) the Exalted encompasses all opposites within Himself. He contains both the levels of haqqiyyat (the degrees pertaining to the Real) and the levels of khalqiyyat (the degrees pertaining to creation). It is He who manifests with two attributes in two judgments and is apparent (zāhir) with attribute in both worlds. That which is connected to the ḥaqīqa (inner reality) pertaining to the Real appears in lights (nūr), while that which is connected to the ḥaqīqa pertaining to creation consists of darkness (ẓulma, darkness). Thus, due to this divine secret that unites two attributes (the two seniyyü'l-ceberūt—opposites), they have worshipped both light and darkness (servitude to illumination and obscurity).
