Seniyy, in the manuscript copies of the book that we have seen, is written with a yāʾ. It is clear that it is derived from sanāʾ, in the fāʿil pattern with a doubled yāʾ. Seniyy means exaltedness. The attribution is to the qualified, that is, to jabarūt. If it were written with an alif maqṣūra, it would mean brightness. By jabarūt is meant the world of intellects. This is also called malakūt (the spiritual realm) in its highest and greatest sense.
It has been said that the reason it is called jabarūt is either because it is compelled to preserve its innate perfections and these perfections themselves, or because it pertains to imkānī (the possible, contingent being), that is, to the being that comes into existence after non-existence.
