Serāʾir-i āthār are the divine names, which are the inner realities (bāṭin) of the material worlds. (Kāshānī, 103; Jāmiʿ, 86)
Setāʾir are the cosmic (material) forms. For these are the loci of manifestation (maẓhar, places of appearance, tecelligāh) of the divine names. The divine names are known through them. As Shaybānī said: (The divine names) have manifested to the material worlds from behind veils, and have become apparent when the veils are lifted from them. (Kāshānī, 99; Jāmiʿ, 85)
