The station of corporeality (ḥaḍrat al-jismiyyat) gathers within itself the sensible things (maḥsūsāt, things perceivable by the senses) that we have mentioned. Its commander is imagination (ḥayāl), and its agent of transmission is sensation (ḥiss). When the senses are in a relative state of difference (ḥāl), they receive the sensible things and deliver them to the sensation that is the agent of transmission, elevating them to the treasury of imagination. Here, an appellation is obtained that corresponds to the kind of thing that has been elevated. At this point, the name of sensible things (maḥsūsāt) is removed from them, and they are given the name of conceivable things (mutakhayyilāt, things that can be imagined).
After this, imagination, under the power of recollection, becomes the agent of transmission for the sensible things, memorizing them. Here, the name mutakhayyilāt passes from them to those things that are remembered (mazkūrāt) or memorized (maḥfūẓāt).
Then, under the power of thought (fikr), recollection (dhikr, remembrance) becomes the agent of transmission and presents these things to it, distinguishing them through experience (tajriba). By questioning those under its own administration about these things, it separates the true (ḥaqq) from the false (bāṭil) among them. For sensation has many deceptive aspects. The name mazkūrāt passes from them to those things that are contemplated (mutafakkarāt). When it examines them, sends the deceptive elements back to sensation, and takes the sound elements and transfers them to the station (ḥaḍra) of intellect (ʿaql), then thought, under the power of intellect, also becomes the possessor of the blessing (baraka) obtained in the process of the intellect's operation.
The intellect, which is the vizier, takes them and brings them to the Universal Holy Spirit (al-Rūḥ al-Kullī al-Qudsī). The rational soul (nafs al-nāṭiqa) also seeks permission for this, so it too is included. Once it is included, it leaves all the intelligibles (maʿqūlāt, things that are thought) in its possession and says to it: "Peace be upon the master, the noble, and the khalifa (successor)!" Thus, this has reached you by the hand of those who produce from the desert of his station. The Spirit takes them and brings them to the Holy Presence (Kudsi Ḥaḍra). It prostrates and falls to the ground. This
