sihriyyet (Sufism Glossary)

Sihriyyet refers to belittling, disparaging, and drawing attention to faults and defects that provoke laughter. This may occur sometimes through imitation (taqlid), and at other times through insinuation and indication (ishāra). The name of the person being mocked is not mentioned in their presence.
