According to the community of Sufis, tahakküm (exercising control) is to exercise tasarruf (spiritual authority) so that the particularity in dua (supplication) may be manifested in the state of bast (spiritual expansion). This is among the types of shatah (ecstatic utterance) and is close to it. However, as it is counted among the divine commands, and since the nafs (the lower self) has a part in it, the angels record these actions, but the sāḥib (the one who possesses it) is not held accountable for them.
