Regarding the dhikr practitioner (zākir), it is used for the existence of mercy at three levels. At the first level are the people of the outward (ahl al-ẓāhir), at the second level are the people of the inward (ahl al-bāṭin), and at the third level, mercy exists for the walī (friend[s] of God) and the prophets (anbiyāʾ). The mercy belonging to them increases for those living on earth and animals, then for the angels, the people of Paradise, the souls of the believers (muʾmin), and then for the walī, the prophets, and the people of (divine) presence.
