There are three levels of taṣrīf (spiritual disposal): taṣrīf with the nafs (nafs, the lower self), taṣrīf with inanimate objects (jamādāt), and taṣrīf with creation (halk). Taṣrīf with the nafs is when the faqir (the dervish) exerts spiritual influence over his own nafs. In this state, nothing remains with him except Allah.
Taṣrīf with inanimate objects is, for example, when the faqir is imprisoned behind locked doors, and when he comes to one of the doors and knocks, the door immediately opens and he goes out. Taṣrīf with creation (halk) occurs as follows: Once, when we were five years old, we would say: So-and-so will fall ill, and indeed that person would fall ill. We would say: So-and-so will die, and that person would die. When we said: So-and-so will become wealthy, that person would become wealthy. Thus, whatever we said would come to pass. (This is taṣrīf with creation.) (Nafahāt, 74)
tatavvuʿ-i mutlak bi ṣalāh: The most virtuous of the absolute supererogatory prayers (tatavvuʿ-i mutlak) is the night prayer. (Rajab, 30)
tawāriq-tawālī 1021: tawāriq-tawālī (see: lawāʾiḥ-lawāmiʿ-tawālīʿ-tawāriq-shawāriq-qādiḥ)
