tecelli-yi hayâli

The tecelli-yi ḥayālī (imaginal manifestation) is of two kinds: manifestation in the form that is held in belief, and manifestation in the form that is sensible (perceptible, apprehensible by the senses). Understand this! However, the absolute sūrī (formal) manifestation is the point of union between its origin and the world of exemplars. This manifestation, when its appearance intensifies, can be witnessed sensibly (with the physical eye), but in reality it is witnessed with the eye of baṣīra (inner sight). What is seen appears entirely with the clarity of bayān (clear exposition). At that moment, in time and space, the eye becomes the locus of baṣīra. What I am referring to, the (manifestation) mentioned in the hadith, which is a kind of spiritual unveiling (kashf) granted to us, occurs in meaning.
