The first subtlety of tamakkun (spiritual establishment) is that the murīd (aspirant, disciple) brings together the soundness of intention in his journey (sulūk), the witnessing (mushāhada) he undertakes, and the expansiveness in which he finds ease. The second is the tamakkun in which the murīd gathers the soundness of discontinuity (inqiṭāʿ, interruption in spiritual states), the clarity of unveiling (kashf), and the lucidity of the ḥāl (spiritual state).
