It is not like participation. The reason is that things that are created later, as well as meanings such as presence (ḥuḍūr) and being present (ḥāḍir), are known through the intellect. Thus, such things, in terms of rank, are closer to us than the unseen (ghayb) that is known through the intellect. From here on, you should understand and reflect. (Insān, I, 43)

One of the levels of existence (wujūd) is the level of the Divine Essence (Dhāt-i Ilāhī). This level, due to certain aspects, is called the Absolute Sacred Essence (Mutlaq Muqaddas Dhāt)—that is, Allah, who is sanctified from other nisba (relations) and manifestations (tajallī). For this reason, it is referred to as the ghayb al-ghayb (the unseen of the unseen). Therefore, the Sufis have called this level the simple Divine Essence, because expressions are incapable of describing it, and indications (ishāra) are cut off before reaching the boundary of its pavilion. For this reason, that level is called the ghayb munkataʿ al-ishārāt (the unseen where indications are cut off).
