The six vowel marks of the letters
Allah has manifested their counterparts
The states of rafʿ (nominative), naṣb (accusative), and jarr (genitive)
are the vowelizations of the iʿrāb (grammatical inflection) letters
Fatḥa, ḍamma, and kasra are for the mabnī (indeclinable) letters
or they take sukūn (quiescence) in place of a vowel mark
Such is the state of the world
for the strange life that dwells within death
