It is to awaken from the sleep of fatret (pause, spiritual dormancy) after it has begun. See also awakening.

Qiyām billāh (standing by God) is, after passing through fanāʾ (annihilation in God) and all the spiritual stations, to remain steadfast in the state of baqāʾ (subsistence in God), and, stripping away all forms, to journey from Allah, by Allah, and in Allah. (Kāshānī, 143; Jāmiʿ, 92)
