Wāḥid is the name of the Essence (Dhāt) in this respect. (Kāshānī, 47; Jāmiʿ, 103)
Wāḥid is the reality of the Essence (Dhāt) that does not admit multiplicity (kathra) and for which there is no possibility of division. Approaching the Essence is only possible through the Essence itself. (Rawḍa, 309)
wāḥid al-zamān Wāḥid al-zamān is the person who manifests in the worlds with divine forms. The sign of this in his own nafs (the lower self) is to know that He is He. Moreover, he has the choice regarding whether the decree is completed or not. It is also particular to him to manifest with Him along with something other than Him. Among them, there are those who are apparent (zāhir), and those who are not apparent and remain as servants. However, the Real (al-Ḥaqq) has commanded him to manifest. He has manifested only to the extent that the divine command has occurred in himself, and has not manifested beyond that. This path is a lofty maqām (spiritual station) for those who rely upon Him.
