Because they have continual needs, it will never cease. Reminding (tadhkīr) and warning (tanbīh) are for returning the nafs (the lower self) to its origin and essence. The walī (friend of God) in the ḥāl (spiritual state) never brings a new sharia (the sacred law). However, he brings a new understanding to Allah's Book and the Sunnah of the Messenger (peace be upon him). (Rihle, 95)
Walāya (sainthood) in a person is hidden, like fire is hidden. For some, it is manifest in the dunyā (this world) and hidden in the hereafter; for others, it is hidden in the dunyā and manifest in the hereafter. For some, it may be manifest both in the dunyā and in the hereafter. (Nafahāt, 128)
