vech (Sufism Glossary)

May Allah be pleased with him, and may he be pleased with Allah. The shaykh said: Do not unveil the veil from your face until you have withdrawn from people and turned away from them; until all ḥāl (spiritual states) have become humbled in your qalb (the heart); until caprice has vanished and, following it, will and imtihān (trial) have disappeared; until you have become annihilated from the existents of the dunyā (this world), and in the end, like a worthless vessel that does not object to whatever is placed in it, nothing remains in you except the will of your Lord, and you are filled with Him and with His decree. When falsehood departs, light enters. Thus, in your qalb, there remains no place, no entryway, for anything other than your Lord. (Futūḥ, 58)
