There are seven banners known as elviye-i hamd (banners of praise). They will be given to the Messenger of God (peace be upon him) and to those among the Muhammadiyya who are his inheritors. The names of Allah are inscribed on the banner. On the Day of Resurrection, when our Prophet is established at the Maqām-i Maḥmūd (the Praised Station), he will praise and extol his Lord with those names.
When he was asked about intercession, he said: I will praise Allah with praises that I do not yet know. Those praises are the names with which Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, will be extolled in a manner befitting the majesty of that place. Allah, Exalted is He, is not extolled with anything other than those names. The names of Allah, Exalted is He, are unknown. We know and believe that in Paradise there are things which eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, and which have not occurred to the human mind. Likewise, we cannot even imagine what happinesses, hidden from us until now, await us in the Hereafter.
Whatever there is of such things, all of them are based on the divine name that brings them into being. Since Allah, Exalted is He, has shown us His names as a grace and favor, we should know Him and, in return, praise and extol Allah. This is the praise of glorification or the praise of affirmation.
