zālim li-nafsih (those who wrong their own nafs [the lower self]) are those who persist in their sins. The muqtaṣid (one who fulfills the obligatory acts and avoids the forbidden) is the one who performs the obligatory duties and refrains from the prohibited. The sābiq li'l-khayrāt (one who excels in good deeds) is the one who fulfills both obligatory and supererogatory acts. (al-Furqān 25:30)
