In the cosmos (space), inanimate objects that occupy a place are called ajsām (bodies). According to the Ashʿarites, ajsām (bodies) and jawāhir-i fard (individual substances) are also of this kind... Some of these are relative existents, which arise between those we have mentioned above and aʿrāḍ (accidents). For example: ayna (location), kayfa (quality), zamān (time), ʿadad (number), miqdār (measure), iḍāfa (relation), waḍʿ (position, state, condition), an yafʿala (active actions, effect), an yanfaʿila (passive actions, being affected), and the like.

Time is yesterday, today, tomorrow, night, day, hour, and whatever we can ask about with 'When?'. (Inshāʾ, 20)

Time is a sultan (sovereignty and power). (Iṣṭilāḥ, 534)

The time attributed to the rank of indiyyat (divine presence) is the ān-i dāʾim (the perpetual moment), which is mentioned alphabetically under the letter alif. (Kāshānī, 55; Jāmiʿ, 85)
