It would not be an exaggeration to say that hundreds of works in Ottoman Turkish concerning Sufism (taṣawwuf) have been written. Between the 14th and 20th centuries, we encounter many highly productive Sufi authors in this field. The names of a few of them can be listed as follows: İsmail Hakkı Bursevi, İbrahim Hakkı Erzurumi, Mustakimzade, Abdullah Bosnovi, Davud-ı Kayseri, Aziz Mahmud Hudayi, Şemseddin Sivasi, Abdulahad Nuri, Salahi Efendi, Köstendilli Süleyman Efendi ...
The fact that Bursalı Mehmet Tahir, in his work Ottoman Authors (Osmanlı Müellifleri), discusses the life stories and works of about 300 Sufis whose books and treatises have reached us is one of the clearest documents on this subject.
In the Republican era, those who have prepared books on this subject can be grouped into two categories:
1- Books that contain the views, conversations, and observations of people who are within the Sufi (taṣawwuf) way of life.
2- Research on the history of Sufism (taṣawwuf) conducted by scholars, most of whom serve in Faculties of Theology. The most famous names in this group are as follows: Abdülbaki Gölpınarlı, Fuat Köprülü, Ömer Lütfi Barkan, Mabir İz, Selçuk Eraydın, Süleyman Uludağ, Mustafa Tahralı, Mehmet Demirci, Yaşar Nuri Öztürk, Kamil Yılmaz, İrfan Gündüz, Erhan Yelik, Osman Türer, Mikail Bayram, Ahmet Yaşar Ocak, Süleyman Ateş, Erol Güngör, Sabri Ülgener, Nihat Keklik, Cavid Sunar, Tahsin Yazıcı, Hayranı Altıntaş, Ethem Cebecioğlu.
Some of the scholars living in various Islamic countries who have published works on the subject can be listed as follows: Afifi, Abdülhalim Mahmud, Mustafa Kamil Şibi, Nureddin Şeribe, Osman Yahya, Abdurrahman Bedevi, Zeki Mübarek, Abdülkadir Isa, Abu'l-Wafa Taftazani, Faruk Ahmed Mustafa, Bediuzzaman Firuzanfer, Qasim Ghani, Taha Abdülbaki Surur.
Within the last century, many Orientalists, foremost among them L. Massignon, R. A. Nicholson, A. J. Arberry, Anne Marie Schimmel, and Paul Nuriya, have published their research and studies on the subject.
R. Guenon and those who follow him have also engaged in noteworthy activities in presenting this culture from a different perspective in both the East and the West.

_ _ Knowledge has become the most important value of our time. But keeping up with the avalanche-like growth of information production is almost impossible amidst the rush of daily life. We cannot even find time to read books on subjects that closely concern our everyday lives. Yet, going beyond this, developing ourselves in every field, and increasing our culture is the dream of all of us. Cep University opens the doors of contemporary knowledge and culture for you. The books of Cep University have been carefully selected from the French "Que sais-je" (What do I know?) series and translated into Turkish. Cep University has also been enriched with works specially commissioned from experts for this series on topics related to Turkey's history, politics, culture, and economic life.
