The prayer for guidance in a decision
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلَا أَقْدِرُ وَتَعْلَمُ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ وَأَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ خَيْرٌ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ شَرٌّ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ وَاقْدُرْ لِيَ الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كَانَ ثُمَّ أَرْضِنِي بِهِ
Allâhümme innî estehîruke bi ilmik, ve estakdiruke bi kudretik, ve es’elüke min fadlike’l-azîm. Fe inneke takdiru ve lâ akdir, ve ta‘lemu ve lâ a‘lem, ve ente allâmü’l-guyûb. Allâhümme in künte ta‘lemu enne hâze’l-emre hayrun lî fî dînî ve meâşî ve âkıbeti emrî fakdurhü lî ve yessirhü lî sümme bârik lî fîh. Ve in künte ta‘lemu enne hâze’l-emre şerrun lî fî dînî ve meâşî ve âkıbeti emrî fasrifhü annî vasrifnî anh, vakdur liye’l-hayra haysü kâne sümme erdınî bih.
O Allah, I seek the good through Your knowledge and ability through Your power. You are able and I am not; You know and I do not. If this matter is good for my faith, life and outcome, decree it for me, ease it and bless it. If it is harmful, turn it away from me and me from it; decree good wherever it may be and make me content with it.
